Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label released her first EP titled Pho in October of 2016 when she began to gain recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks on the internet in 2012, when she released her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued posting her music online including her independent single Bound. On July 21st, 2015. Omen included her in Elephant Eyes song"Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to collaborate together with Rihanna. In December 2008, it was announced that Rihanna was hired with Dreamville Records. On the record Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP on October 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she went on to appear on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video came out on the 5th. On November 9 she dropped two more singles, 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November, 13 the singer released two new singles entitled One and Pdigree. One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on the 26th of February, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on November 16. It was released with the music video which debuted in February 20th, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
